At Ynystawe Primary School we utilise the Pupil Deprivation Grant to narrow the gap between attainment and achievement for targeted groups of learners throughout the school.  The aim is to develop children's confidence, resilience, fine and gross motor skills in addition to supporting their academic skills.

 

Activity – action required, for instance, recruitment of outstanding teachers (WA)

Outputs – evidence that activities have occurred, for instance the number of teachers that have received catch up training (WA)

Outcomes – the difference / impact made, for instance improvement in numeracy levels. (WA)

 

Inputs – resources, in this case the PDG funding and human resource required (WA)

Speech and Language support for Early Years:

Wellcomm programme

·  Daily sessions for identified pupils

Nurture Group –

·FP and KS 2 children identified for support

·1 staff member

 

·   Nurture class for identified pupils

·   1 1⁄2 days per week

 

To allow opportunities for circle time and for children to express their emotions via group/individual discussions to improve confidence.

To allow staff time to create personal nurture based activities to meet the needs of all targeted children to further develop resilience, confidence and self esteem.

Intervention Programmes / Rhaglenni Ymyrraeth

 

1 additional teacher to work with identified groups of children throughout the school

 

Provision of catch - up groups in Literacy and Numeracy to target children's individual needs.

 

Provision of nurture support for any targeted children who need emotional support and guidance.

 

 

·  Provision of Language and numeracy support

·  Weekly sessions for identified pupils on a rota basis.

Foundation Phase- 2.5 hours per week 

KS 2 – 2.5 hours per week 

 

Improved pupils' autonomy and increase engagement and motivation with experiential based learning opportunities.

 

Improve pupil performance in targeted areas of Literacy and Numeracy.

 

To improve standards of well-being and confidence
