What are the Digital Wizards? |
The Digital Wizards are a representative of pupils who have volunteered and then been selected by their current classroom teachers and teaching assistants. They have been carefully chosen to provide their peers, school staff and curriculum, support in all areas of Digital Competency. They will represent the views of their peers, represent and raise issues with the Staff, Senior Managers and Governors of their school. |
About Digital Competence “Digital competence is the set of skills, knowledge and attitudes that enable the confident, creative and critical use of technologies and systems. It is essential for learners if they are to be informed, capable and have the potential to be successful in today’s society.” Welsh Government 2018
How we are elected: From September 2019, pupils from year 2 - year 6 will have the opportunity to remain in Digital Wizards if they feel they are making a positive contribution to the group and school as a whole. Children in Year 1 will have the opportunity to volunteer to represent their class as a Digital Wizard. They will make a speech in front of their teachers and peers as to why they think they will be a good representative and the pupils will be chosen by the class teachers and assistants. We have our own Digital Wizard governor (Anthony Quick) who we will be informing of our actions and plans. We meet every week in the Early Years unit with Miss Edwards, Miss Stote, Mr Pyle and Mr Brooks. Our agendas arise from points made during weekly Digital wizard meetings, needs around the school and curriculum meetings. All pupils across the school have the opportunity to contribute to the agenda during class feedback sessions. There is collaborative and distributed leadership within the group We hope that as a group we can work with all the children to make positive changes in our school. |
