Keep up to Date!

 How to ensure you keep up to date with information. 


  1. School app.    We have launched our new School app, please ensure you complete the form and register your app.

  2. Squidcard.    Please ensure you register, this is a whole school email and booking service that keeps you up to date with not only class information but whole school information too!

  3. Newsletters.     On our website, detailing key information regarding PE, Forest School, Reading –Teach Your Monster To Read, Phonics , Journals and other key areas.

  4. Our School Twiter account.  @ynystawe    Please see staff if you so wish to follow our account.

  5. Check your childs bag/book bag etc when they are returned home, equally please let staff know on the door that letters/snack monies etc are in their bag that are to be seen by staff.

Forest School and Physical Education (PE)

PE Kit


Children are requested to wear suitable PE friendly attire including trainers.

Children are not expected to bring kit and change for Physical Education lessons.

Children are expected to bring kit and change for Physical Education lessons.

Boys and Girls can wear:

  • P.E. shorts/games skirt and a short sleeved t-shirt. Kits should be in school colours of navy/blue/black shorts or skirt and a plain short sleeved white t-shirt.


For safety reasons please ensure that the shorts have loose fitting legs. Cycling shorts are not to be worn on the apparatus.


In colder weather children are encouraged to bring a tracksuit for lessons held outdoors. All lessons in the hall are worked barefoot but for outdoor activities sports trainers and not fashion trainers are necessary.


For safety reasons the wearing of jewellery is not allowed during P.E. lessons (this includes the wearing of earrings other than studs).

Under certain circumstances, kit will be provided.


Forest School Kit


For EVERY Forest School session your child should wear/bring to school the following -


  • Appropriate weather dependent clothing.  This must include long trousers and long tops (even in warmer weather for safety reasons within the woodland areas)
  • Plenty of warm layers in the colder months
  • Waterproof coat
  • Waterproof trousers for wet winter months

 (Please do not send all in one suits, only separate trouser and coat!)

  • Wellies/walking boots/old shoes AND a change of clean footwear to wear inside the school building!
  • Long hair must be tied up.

Suncream must be applied before arriving into school.


Optional - 

  • Hat/Scarf/Gloves etc
  • Sun hat
  • Change of clothes for muddy winter weather


  • Please save yourself expense and us valuable time by making sure that EVERY garment likely to be taken off including the bag they bring their items to school in, is clearly and permanently marked with your child’s name. If lost property is not named it will be placed in a lost property box, but named items will be returned to their owners. The school cannot be held responsible for lost property.

Please discuss with a class teacher if in doubt.

Breakfast Club


  • Breakfast Club is open for children in Reception.
  • Parents of Nursery children, you must speak to your child's Class Teacher before making bookings and/or bringing your child to Breakfast Club.
